Refunds, Returns & Warranty Policy

(New Zealand Customers)

We are committed to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer care.
All purchases are protected under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA), ensuring your sunglasses are of acceptable quality and last a reasonable amount of time. If there is a manufacturing issue, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund under the CGA.

In addition to your rights under New Zealand law, we offer our own extended brand guarantee outlined below.


1. 12-Month Breakage Warranty

If your sunglasses break within 12 months of the purchase date, we will replace them with a new pair at no cost.

To make a claim, please provide:

  • The sunglasses being returned

  • Your order confirmation or proof of purchase

Once the product is received and assessed, a replacement pair will be shipped to you.
This warranty covers manufacturing issues and standard use.
It does not cover loss, theft, or intentional damage.


2. Style Exchange Policy

If the style isn’t quite right, you may return your sunglasses for an exchange.

Conditions:

  • Must be returned in original condition (unused, undamaged, with packaging)

  • Exchange request must be made within 14 days of receiving your order

  • If the replacement style is higher or lower in price, the difference will be charged or refunded

Return shipping for exchanges is the customer’s responsibility.
We cover the shipping cost of sending your replacement pair.


3. Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds for change of mind, but we gladly support style exchanges under the policy above.


4. Incorrect or Faulty Items

If you receive an incorrect product, or you believe your sunglasses have a manufacturing fault, contact us within 7 days of delivery at Info@bymichael.co.nz .
We will organise a replacement, refund, or suitable remedy in line with the CGA.


5. How to Start a Return

Please email Info@bymichael.co.nz with:

  • Full name

  • Order number

  • Reason for return (breakage, exchange, incorrect item, etc.)

  • Photos (if relevant)

We will provide instructions on where to send your return and next steps.


6. Return Shipping

  • Warranty replacements (breakage within 12 months): return shipping at customer’s cost; replacement shipping covered by us

  • Style exchanges: return shipping at customer’s cost; replacement shipping covered by us

  • Incorrect or faulty item: we cover all shipping costs
